Skansen outdoor museum

Let a guide show you Skansen, the worlds first open air museum. Inaugurated in 1891 Skansen was the creation of one man, Arthur Hazelius who had a vision of a museum full of life, interesting for both young and old, and open all year around. Still today Skansen is very much a museum in this spirit.

During a guided walk through this large park you can visit a manor, a farm stead, a church and a school. You can also see different craftsmen, glass blowers, shoe makers etc in action.

Among the Nordic animals at Skansen you will find elk, reindeer, brown bear, lynx and many others.
