Vasa Museum
The Vasa ship took three and a half years to build and sailed for approximately twenty minutes before she sank in Stockholm’s harbor in 1628.
In 1956 the ship was rediscovered by a keen engineer who on his own initiative had searched for several years in Stockholm’s harbor for the ship. The Vasa had lain in the water for 333 years before she was finally salvaged and broke the water’s surface, in 1961.
Let a guide tell you the story of The Vasa and how she was salvaged while you see the Man of war with your own eyes.
