Royal Palace of Stockholm

The Royal Palace is the King’s official residence. The present-day palace was built after the fire in 1697 which destroyed the old Palace “Three Crowns “.

The palace is a large, dark quadrangle shaped building in the Old Town – however at closer glance you will find that it is highly decorated.

Official banquets are held here for various occasions such as state visits and the Nobel banquet on 11 December when the king and queen host a banquet for the Nobel laureates.
