The Marcus Church – Lewerentz’s masterpiece
Sigurd Lewerentz, one of Sweden’s best-known architects internationally, designed the Marcus Church located in the suburb of Björkhagen. This unique brick church was inaugurated in 1960 and is considered one of the foremost works of Swedish architectural history. The church has been awarded the Kaspar Salin Award.
The church is a masterpiece, an ageless sacred room that does not resemble a traditional church either in its interior or exterior.
